The German Rowing Association has outlined plans for the launch of a European Rowing Champions League competition.
According to the Rudern.de news website, the final of the inaugural edition of the league will be staged on September 20, 2014 in Berlin. The national association will organise the event, which will feature men and women.
Further information will be disclosed later this month ahead of qualifying competitions in June.
National champions will also be invited to participate in the tournament, which is being created in an effort to open up new broadcast and commercial revenue streams, the report added.
