New Cadence fixes accuracy problem
Philadelphia, January 22, 2009. Today, the new version of the Cadence stroke rate measuring watch started selling for $74.95 on the CadenceRowing.com website, this time without the accuracy problems that plagued the previous version of the watch. The Cadence watch, invented in 2002, straps to your oar and measures stroke rating by detecting the featuring of your oar. Because it is easy to use in any boat, the Cadence has been popular with club rowers who often row different boats. It is also more affordable than the other stroke rate monitors on the market.
Vanya Buvach, the inventor of the Cadence watch, took back the management of the project from Nielsen-Kellerman, who was licensing the patent and trademark since 2004. Vanya’s first task was to eliminate the accuracy problems of NK’s version of the Cadence. So, he spent Thanksgiving in Shenzhen, China working with his engineers to solve the accuracy problem. The effort paid off. “The new Cadence watch is as accurate as any stroke rate monitor,” claims Vanya. He is standing behind his words by offering a 30-day satisfaction guarantee on his product.
Initially, the Cadence Vo3 will be available through the CadenceRowing.com website for only $74.95. But, Vanya is hoping to sign up rowing retailers to sell his products. “I know how to make great products that help improve rowing; that’s what I want to focus on,” says Vanya. “There are other businesses that are really good at retail. And, I want to help them offer the best products and service to our rowing customers.”
