2010 European Rowing Championships Re-confirmed for Montemor-o-Velho, Portugal

On 31 May 2010, the European Rowing Management Board (ERMB) took the decision to raise a yellow card on the situation with the 2010 European Rowing Championships at its meeting in Bled. In the meantime, ERMB representatives have visited Portugal and other potential organizers, and noted the following:Lausanne, Switzerland
1. The Portuguese Rowing Federation, the Municipality of Montemor-o-Velho and the National Secretary of State for Sport have adequately addressed most of the critical areas of the preparation, equipment procurement process and construction of the championships during the past ten days.The ERMB has renewed its full support to stage the 2010 European Rowing Championships at the new international rowing course in Montemor-o-Velho, Portugal.
2. A revised timeline of construction has been presented. A report on construction progress and equipment procurement between now and the end of August will be delivered every 15 days, and the responsible bodies have guaranteed that the construction workforce will be increased wherever necessary to ensure that there are no more construction delays.
3. Renewed attention has been given to the sport organization and logistical aspects of the event.
